There are different schools of feng shui but in this post we’re going to focus on BTB or Western feng shui. Regardless of what school of feng shui you work with, all feng shui practitioners use something called a bagua. The bagua is essentially a road map to your life through the various areas of your home and/or property. The bagua has 9 areas called guas. Each gua represents a different area of your life, and each one is represented by a different colour, direction, element and number. The 9 guas are: . Wealth and Prosperity - foster an abundance of good fortune, money and positive things into your life Fame and Reputation - improve your reputation, get recognized in your chosen field, be valued by your peers Love and Relationships - attract a new partner into your life, improve your existing relationship Family and New Beginnings - strengthen the bonds within your family, start off in a positive way when you’re making big changes in your life and starting something new Health and well-being - your health affects everything else in your life. That’s why it’s at the center of the bagua. Children, Creativity and Completion - boost your creativity, gets your kids more focused on completing homework, learn new creative pursuits, finish projects Knowledge and Spirituality - expand your knowledge, read books, study, meditate, connect with spirit/the Universe/God Career - create a flow of career opportunities, attract new customers or clients to your business, increase your income Helpful People and Travel - attract people into your life who will help you move towards your goals, increase travel opportunities. To determine where each gua is in your home, the bagua is laid over a scaled floor plan of your home. Don't worry if your home is an odd shape, if you live in a high rise condo or a basement apartment. The bagua can be applied to any style home or property. So, there you have it.
