10/7/2021

If you’re planning on taking a trip soon and want to increase your luck while traveling, then you may want to consider implementing some principles of feng shui into your home before you pack your bags.  This blog post will give you some simple feng shui tips to help you maximize your luck while traveling, help you reduce travel stress and attract good luck and opportunities while on the road.

When you think of taking a vacation, you likely envision all of the exciting activities you'll do, the people you'll be with, the warm, sunny beaches you'll recline on, or the beautiful, snow capped mountains you'll ski down. However, if you’ve ever taken a trip anywhere, you know that the journey from your home to your destination and back can sometimes be stressful and tense. What you aren’t likely to envision are the long lineups and wait times, lost luggage and crowded tourist spots!

So, to maximize your travel luck and minimize the stress of your next vacation, give these feng shui tips a try. From selecting the right colors for your home to arranging symbols correctly, these tips should make your next vacation more enjoyable and less stressful! Keep in mind that travel doesn’t just have to be a vacation or a business trip either. Travel is any kind of travel… even your regular commute to the city or if you have an upcoming move. So, these tips can be used to enhance your overall travel luck, too.

The Travel Luck Area in Your Home

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese practice that is used to bring balance and harmony to a living space. It's based on the idea that everything in the universe is connected and has an energy associated with it. This includes the different areas of your home, which are all associated with different life goals. One of those areas is the northwest, which, in feng shui, is associated with travel luck. The northwest area of your home is also associated with helpful people, which is associated with being supported by gods, ancestors, and spiritual guides, and is also helpful in  attracting mentors and benefactors into your life.

When you really think about it, helpful people and traveling go hand-in-hand. Whenever you travel, you come across a variety of people, including your Uber drivers, flight attendants, hotel staff, restaurant personnel, tour guides, and so much more. Have you ever had an experience with an unhelpful person while traveling? I certainly have!

Thankfully, helpful people can come from anywhere in the world, no matter what help you need in life. Enhancing the northwest corner of your home will not only help improve your travel luck but can also help you attract the helpful people you need to make your trip that much more enjoyable.

6 Feng Shui Tips to Boost Your Travel Luck

1. Activate the metal energy in the northwest

The northwest area of your home is ruled by the metal element, making it an essential part of creating a balanced and harmonious home. So, let’s first start by enhancing the metal energy in this area. The best colors to use are those associated with the metal element, such as white, grey, and silver. The metal element is a cool, yin element so use colors that represent that energy. Paint the walls in that area of your home, bring in a grey or white rug or some furniture pieces in those colors. Some of my favorite metal element paint colors are Magnetic Gray and Pure White by Sherwin Williams and Mysterious and Whisper by Benjamin Moore. 2. Elevate the metal energy with metal decor pieces

Add decor items to your home that have metallic finishes, reflective surfaces and round shapes. Using metallic finishes, such as silver, gold, and brass as well as reflective surfaces and round shapes is an excellent way to elevate the metal energy in your home. Incorporate decorative items made of metal, brass, gold, copper, etc. Round decorative spheres, a metal bowl or a properly placed mirror with a metal frame are perfect in this area.

3. Place a globe in the travel area of your home or office

A globe sits on a desk.
Placing a globe in your home or office can elevate your travel luck, so consider placing a globe in the northwest corner of your home or in the northwest corner of your office or desk (yes, you can feng shui your desk, too!). Not only can it bring in positive travel energy, but it can also add a touch of style to any space. Whether you choose a metal globe or one made of any other material, it can be a beautiful and energetic addition to your home or workspace.

4. Hang a metal windchime at your front door

Hanging a metal wind chime at the entrance to your home or outside your front door is an ancient custom that is believed to bring good luck and positive energy to the people living in the home. Not only does the wind chime provide a beautiful and peaceful sound to your entrance, but it  will also attract positive and exciting opportunities for you and your family. Placing a metal wind chime in your entrance or outside your front door not only draws in opportunities, but it also enhances the metal element, elevating the overall energy of your home.

5. Let the Universe know where you're going

What kind of vacation are you dreaming of? Would you like to go to a tropical paradise? Maybe you'd like to take a tour of Europe? Or maybe you have your eye on a cottage or chalet for the family to hang out. Traveling is one of life's greatest joys. It can take you to places you never knew existed and open your eyes to new cultures and experiences. But, before you start packing your bags or booking that flight, it's important to let the Universe know where you’re headed and what your dream destination looks like. A great way to do this is to display a picture or a travel guide of the destination you want to travel to. Hang pictures of those destinations or buy a few postcards and display them in this area. By displaying pictures and travel guides of the places you want to travel to, you energetically increase your travel luck and can make your dream trip a reality.

6. Make some noise

The ancient Chinese philosophy of feng shui is all about balancing the energies in your home. One of the most important aspects of feng shui is sound because the right kind of sound can activate certain kinds of energy. Sound can help focus and direct energy and it can also help to activate the energy of a space.  So, go ahead and make some noise!  To activate the energy of your travel area (which is ruled by the metal element), you can use metal items, such as a brass or metal bell, a windchime or a singing bowl to activate the energy in this area. Choose items that really appeal to you, ones that are beautiful and fit in with your unique design style. Then make some noise and let the Universe know that you’re serious about having the most epic vacation ever!
